BOWS is a mentoring program designed for girls in fifth grade. There are several businesswomen and community leaders who have committed their time to the BOWS Mentoring Program. These dedicated women take time out of their busy schedules and come speak with the girls about the importance of an education and life experiences.
The girls involved in this program will have the opportunity to develop strong character and leadership qualities. Also, the girls will participate in excursions throughout the school year as well.
Each Friday, girls wear their white Peter-Pan Collar shirt, navy cross-tie, khaki skirt/ skort, navy hairbow and navy knee socks with their black school shoes to meetings and any events sponsored through the BOWS Program.
This new and exciting BOWS Mentoring Program officially started on December 3, 2010. BOWS adapted an excerpt from Maya Angelou's quote, "One isn't necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential" as their motto. There are approximately twenty-nine girls enrolled in the BOWS Program as of today.
