What is an After School Good News Club?

Good News Club® is an elementary club that uses biblical principles to teach moral values, character qualities and respect to authority to elementary-aged children.  CEF® partners with the local church in starting a club in the elementary school of their choice.  Child Evangelism Fellowship® trains the workers and helps open the doors through meeting with the principal to seek permission. Even though the Supreme Court gives approval, a solid working relationship with the school system is of great importance.  Below is additional information on the Good News Club that will help you:

  • CEF works with the principal to decide the day and location of the club.
  • The Good News Club® is an exciting fun-filled club held for one hour, one day a week on school premises.
  • The club includes a snack, Bible lesson, creative learning activities, mission's moment, meaningful songs, games and Scripture memory.
  • Good News Club teachers and clubbers wear nametags.
  • Only children with a signed parental permission slip may attend.
  • Permission slips may be sent home in children's folders and turned into the school office.  A Good News Club team member will pick up the forms each week before club.
  • Good News Club is open to all boys and girls of elementary age, regardless of religious background or race.  Parents are welcome to attend.
  • There is no cost for the children who attend.
  • Good News Clubs are taught by concerned Christians who want to make a difference in the lives of the children.
  • These teachers receive specialized training from Child Evangelism Fellowship® Inc., a mission organization that has been in existence for 70 years. CEF is currently in over 155 countries and all 50 states, teaching biblical principals to more than 5 million children each year.
  • All club workers have been carefully screened with criminal background checks as required by CEF's child protection policy.
  • Parents are responsible for transportation home.
  • CEF works with each school's dismissal policy.
  • After School Program children are escorted by a Good News Club worker back to their program.
  • The Good News Club location will be cleaned up and ready for the next school day.
