Mrs. Lori Williams
who was selected among her coworkers as
Westlawn's Outstanding Teacher Of The Year!
Mrs. Lori Williams graduated from the University of South Alabama with a BS in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 16 years. She has previously taught 5th grade at St. Pius X School and Woodcock Elementary. This is her 4th year in 4th grade at Westlawn Elementary School.
She is the 4th grade BOYS Math and Science teacher this year after being AMSTI trained in the summer of 2008. She has previously taught all girls as well as mixed gender classes.
She has served Westlawn on the SACS committee, Sunshine committee, SAE committee, and as grade level chair.
Mrs. Williams is in her second year of the From Words to Music program with Pensacola Opera, in which her students work on an original opera that is performed at the end of the school year.
Mrs. Williams serves Mobile County as a trainer for Boys and Girls Learn Differently and previously as a presenter for the Comprehension Toolkit workshops.
Mrs. Williams volunteers as a Collegiate Network Specialist for Alpha Omicron PI International Fraternity. She also holds offices in two civic organizations and serves on the board of a mystic society. She volunteers as a Parish Council Representative for her church where she sings in the choir. She has volunteered as a cheerleading coach and as team mom for many sports teams.
She is married with two sons and enjoys tennis, the beach, running, shopping and reading. She spends most of her spare time watching her children play different sports.
